Mekreo was born with an entrepreneurial philosophy and care for the environment.
Its objective is to combine sustainable engineering and innovation to provide high added value solutions that help the national and international business fabric in its transformation towards an industry that is more respectful to our environment in terms of both products and processes.

Enterprising and pioneering engineers. Being the first in the implementation and start-up of the unique factory in 2004 of biodegradable, compostable and water-soluble materials in the Iberian Peninsula.

Experts in the formulation and development of water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol-based materials, adapting them to each application. Providing them with the physical-mechanical properties and characteristics necessary to adequately comply with their expected functionality. Being able to improve the technology for its correct processing, we provide the best solution in each case.

What we propose

Identify the best alternative to cover applications that are currently produced with traditional plastic and whose life time is short (limited use or uses) in different sectors such as cosmetics, pharmacy, agriculture or food.

Find ingenious recovery and valorisation formulas for the plastic waste that is inevitably already in our life cycle.

Identify opportunities to reduce the amount of material used and reuse the material already expended through simple and low-resource recycling processes.

Improve existing multi-material structures and devise new combinations in which separation, identification and recovery of all components are possible with ease and efficiency in sectors such as textiles, food packaging, paper, etc.
